PRESS RELEASE
For Immediate Release

Peace Boat to dock in Liverpool with Banner “Stop Killing Gaza”

Liverpool, UK – 4 -5 October 2025

The Japanese NGO Peace Boat will be in docked in the port of Liverpool 4-5 October 2025, with a powerful banner along the side of its ship reading: “Stop Killing Gaza.”   This message is a direct call to end Israel’s genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza. Since October 2023, tens of thousands of civilians have been killed, entire neighbourhoods destroyed, and essential infrastructure deliberately targeted. The blockade has created conditions of starvation and disease, and Palestinians continue to live under occupation and apartheid.

Peace Boat stands in solidarity with Gaza and joins global demands for:

  • an end to the genocide and immediate and permanent ceasefire,

  • the unconditional release of all hostages and detainees,

  • the lifting of the blockade,

  • a just and lasting end to occupation, and

  • all governments to immediately end arms sales, military cooperation, and every form of support that sustains Israel’s war machine.

The ship, Pacific World, will arrive the evening of October 3 and be at the port of Liverpool until the evening of 5 October. The banner will be raised at 08:00 on October 4 until sunset and again at 08:00 on October 5 until the ship’s departure.  The ship will dock at Liverpool Cruise Terminal, located at Pier Head next to the Liver Building.

Tomorrow, Peace Boat together with Japanese civil society organisations will hold a candlelight vigil in Tokyo, calling for justice for Palestine and echoing the demands of communities worldwide.

About Peace Boat

Peace Boat is a Japan-based international NGO that has been sailing for peace and sustainability since 1983.  We carry out global voyages that combine education, advocacy, and grassroots exchange.

Peace Boat has a long history of solidarity with Palestine and of campaigning for peace in the region. We have organised study and homestay programmes in Jerusalem, the West Bank, and Gaza, and in more hopeful times, hosted grassroots dialogues bringing Israeli and Palestinian youth together on board. Through our ongoing partnerships and as a member of the Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict (GPPAC), we remain committed to supporting a just and non-violent resolution that ensures peace, freedom, and dignity for both peoples.

The message on our ship in Liverpool continues this commitment: a call for justice, peace, and dignity for Palestine.
