Hiroshima Prefecture and the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize Award-winning organization, hold the Hiroshima-ICAN Academy on Nuclear Weapons and Global Security 2020 for three weeks from late July to August 6. As an International Steering Group member of ICAN, Peace Boat is co-coordinating this programme. Through this online training, we aim to nurture global leaders to make concrete and peaceful contributions to the world. 31 students and young professionals from both nuclear-weapons states and non-nuclear-weapons states (20 nationalities) have been participating in the program online.
