Peace Boat takes part in the Educators’ Challenge final in London
Peace Boat’s Ocean and Climate Youth Ambassadors Programme is one of the finalists of the Educators’ Challenge competition, which sought innovative methods to engage students and broader audiences in discussions on the importance and principles of global governance, its history, and its potential future. All the finalist will participate in a public event in London on May 15.
The Global Challenges Foundation is the main organizer of this competition held from November 2017 to June 2018. The evaluation process of the entries was carried out in the autumn of 2018. Thirteen semi-final jury members from BBC Earth, Games for Change, Ashoka and EsGlobal, among others, evaluated the initial entries to the competition. Based on these critiques, twelve finalists were selected with the final jury left to select the ten (10) winners who will each win 5000 USD.
At the event, the finalists will pitch their ideas and prizes will be awarded to the most creative and effective proposals progressing pedagogy and audience engagement around global catastrophic risks that require improved global cooperation.
Apart from the awards ceremony, the event will feature a panel discussion and keynote addresses by influencers and experts invited to share their knowledge and insights. Co-hosted by LSE- Institute of Global Affairs, the event will take place at the LSE Old Building in London. For more information, you can click here.
