Unveiling the Essence of Patagonia with Luis Miranda
Before arriving in the stunning fjords of Chile, participants on Peace Boat's 122nd Global Voyage were treated to a series of captivating lectures by renowned Nature Guide, Luis Miranda. As a graduate of the Explora Guide School, Luis brought the wild beauty of Patagonia to life onboard. His sessions - which were consistently standing room only - dived deep into the region's unique geology, towering glaciers, and diverse wildlife.
Beyond the nature tours, Luis also shared the background of the long-standing partnership between Patagonia and Peace Boat. Since 2008, Luis has been a dedicated supporter of the “Youth for the SDGs” scholarship coordinated by Peace Boat's sister organisation Peace Boat US, helping empower the next generation of leaders in ocean and climate action.
Luis’s message was clear: the landscapes we explore are as fragile as they are breathtaking. We are grateful for his passion and his tireless advocacy for the conservation of our planet's most pristine places.
