Guest Educators 102nd Global Voyage
On September 2, the 102nd Global Voyage departed from Yokohoma. This voyage will visit 23 destinations and will return to Japan on December 12. During every Peace Boat voyage, a wide range of guests from all over the world join the participants onboard, including university professors, photographers, journalists, civil society representatives and artists. These ‘navigators’, or guest educators, hold contribute to the onboard educational programme with lectures, workshops, seminars and concerts onboard, enabling all the participants to learn more about the countries they visit as well as about many different social issues.
In this voyage, around 20 guest educators will join the ship. The complete list is available here or below. Some special groups will also join the boat to take part in different events onboard and in the ports visited. A group of 8 musicians from El Sistema, Fundación Musical Simón Bolívar (FMSB), will join the ship from Manzanillo to La Guaira. During their time on board, they will play different concerts and workshops with the participants. Later, a group of students from the Tübingen University, one of the oldest universities in Europe and with whom Peace Boat has enjoyed long partners, will join the voyage as part of their MA course in Peace and Conflict Research and International Relations. The students will give presentations focusing on how Germany dealt with World War II, war crimes, and violent past in its politics, culture, and educational system. You can check the list with all the groups joining the voyage here.
