Peace Boat brings light to Valparaíso
On February 26, Peace Boat called at the port of Valparaíso, in Chile. Within the activities of the 'Voyage of Light', Litro de Luz Chile organized an event about renewable and sustainable energy joined by dozens of people.
During the workshop, the participants learned how to make solar lights with recycled materials, which they will be able to replicate in their own communities. Peace Boat participants and volunteers of Liter of Light also donated electronic components that, together with products such as disposable bottles, will make 40 self-sustaining solar lamps.
In the afternoon, authorities, the scientific community and neighbors met on the ship, as well as special guests of the organization, in order to take part in talks on sustainability by Peace Boat and Liter of Light, in addition to an artistic presentation.
