The Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict (GPPAC) is an international network of NGOs working in peacebuilding and conflict prevention. Launched in 2005 in response to a call by former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, GPPAC is made up of 15 regions, each working with its own action plan to address issues specific to each region. Peace Boat Director, Yoshioka Tatsuya, is a founding member of the network’s International Steering Group and sits on its Board, and Peace Boat has acted as the Regional Secretariat for GPPAC in Northeast Asia since its launch.
