June 26 is UN Charter Day! The Charter of the United Nations was signed in San Francisco on 26 June 1945, at the conclusion of the United Nations Conference on International Organization, and came into force on 24 October 1945. When Peace Boat gained Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in 2002, many new channels were opened for its engagement in and advocacy with the UN.
