Peace Boat's 73rd Global Peace Voyage sailed from Yokohama on April 24, 2011, and returned on July 12, 2011. The ship called at several ports in Asia before visiting the Middle East, where a programme to promote dialogue and understanding between Palestinian and Israeli youth was held onboard, and traveling on through Europe and Latin America. The intensive peace studies programme "Global University" was held during this voyage, including study units and exposure programmes on themes including social development in India, memory, and reconciliation in Spain, and diversity and economic imbalance in Venezuela.
