Oct 8, 2015 - Booklet: 10 Lessons from Fukushima Published in Spanish!
The Booklet, "10 Lessons from Fukushima: Reducing risks and protecting communities from nuclear disasters" has now been published in Spanish!

This booklet was created by Peace Boat and a network of other civil society organisations, and first published in March 2015, marking the 4th anniversary of the Fukushima nuclear disaster. Based upon the experiences and testimony of local people, it outlines the reality of the Fukushima nuclear disaster, and ten lessons from this which should be shared for considering future response and prevention.

This booklet was created through collaboration by many NGOs and researchers working to support those affected by the Fukushima nuclear power plant disaster in various ways. It includes columns regarding examples of what is really happening in Fukushima, and various international legal tools and standards which can be utilised to advocate for the rights of those affected by the disaster .

Following existing editions in Japanese, English, Chinese, Korean, French and Turkish, the Spanish language edition was translated by Ana Gabriela Blanco and Martha Elena Walsh, with scientific revisions by Elsa Fabiola Vazques Valencia (Engresada de la Ibero (Ing. Fisica) y Dra. En Ciencies por el Cinvestav del IPN, especializada en Fisica de Altas Energias), and edited by Pablo Romo Cedano and Juan Carlos Uribe.

It is available for free download as a PDF directly here, or from the Fukushima Booklet Committee Homepage here.
Or please contact us to request hard copies or for any other related enquiries.
Events to officially launch the booklet will be held in Mexico City and Cozumel in late October, coinciding with the visit to Mexico by Peace Boat's 88th Global Voyage.

We hope that this booklet will help to share the message of the people of Fukushima to the Spanish speaking world, and help to protect people from potential nuclear disasters ever again.
