Aug 7, 2014 - Join Us Now! Peace Boat Global University Special Programme on Social Cohesion in Multiethnic Asia: Nurturing Leaders of the Next Generation (3-14 October, 2014)
Project Background
Asian Leaders who can Affect Change in the World...

In an era full of adversities and crises, Apprehension and uncertainty over the future is a common concern. Leaders who can rise to these challenges are needed more than ever. Peace Boat's Global University aims to empower young leaders to use knowledge as a weapon, take into account the voices of those directly exposed to these issues, and become leaders who can build solutions to global problems with empathy and passion.

Project Overview

What needs to be done in order to construct and maintain peaceful and affluent societies? The theme of "social cohesion" has recently been attracting attention. Constructing highly cohesive societies is not only fundamental to the prevention of conflict, post-conflict recovery and the process of making societies resilient to conflicts, but also plays a vital role in achieving various targets related to development.

Peace Boat's Global University will organise a 12-day Special Programme from 3-14 October, 2014 onboard Peace Boat. We welcome future leaders of Asia between the age of 18 to 35, interested in interacting with other young Asian participants while engaging in discussions about peacebuilding related themes and actual collaborative initiatives on conflict prevention, reconciliation, and social cohesion in the region.
