| Peace Boat's 48th Global Voyage for Peace departed the port of
Yokohama on February 2nd, 2005, taking a route that will pass through
the Suez and Panama Canals, returning to Japan on May 17th. A record
number 981 participants and staff are onboard for the three month
voyage. The voyage will link the northern and southern hemispheres, and programs will highlight the link between environmental issues, globalization, poverty and conflict. Participants will meet first hand the local and indigenous communities, from Viet Nam to Peru to Tahiti, being affected by these problems, and learn how they are developing creative, grassroots solutions. Here we bring you highlights from our experiences at sea and on land. |
