Sep 22, 2014 - Peace Boat to host side-event at the World Conference for Indigenous Peoples (WCIP) 2014:
On September 23, 2014, as part of the World Conference for Indigenous Peoples (WCIP) 2014, Peace Boat, in partnership with the Permanent Missions of El Salvador and Panama to the United Nations, will hold the event "A Journey through indigenous communities in El Salvador and Panama".

From July 31st to August 8th, Peace Boat welcomed a group of students, artists, film makers and social activists from New York City for a cultural exchange and study programme in Central America visiting indigenous communities in El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Panama. During the event, students will present their findings through photography, music and a documentary film reflecting the various issues facing indigenous communities and society in general.

The program was coordinated by Peace Boat's New York-based partner organization, Peace Boat US, as part of The Music and Art Peace Academy (MAPA) project in collaboration with Global Kids, the Brooklyn Community Arts and Media High School, World Up and Downtown Community Television (DCTV).
