Volunteer Onboard

Peace Boat voyages offer a great opportunity for those people with language skills to further develop their capacity while contributing to the strengthening of global civil society. Each voyage, Peace Boat recruits volunteer interpreters and language teachers to support its programmes onboard.

  • INTERPRETER - Peace Boat is always seeking applications from interpreters in the following language combinations: Japanese/English, Japanese/Spanish, Japanese/Chinese, Chinese/English, Korean/Japanese, Korean/English.   • LANGUAGE TEACHERS -Peace Boat's language training programme, is now accepting applications for English and Spanish language teachers for the 96th/97th global voyage. You must be available for the entire duration of the itineraries for the 96th voyage AND the 97th voyage, that is, from January 8 until April 23, 2018. You must also be able to participate in the orientation which is scheduled to begin around one week prior to the departure of the first voyage. While we will accept applications for only one of the voyages, applicants who are available for the combined duration of both voyages will be given priority. The Volunteer Language Teacher application deadline has been extended to 17:00 JST (Japan Standard Time) on Thursday, September 14, 2017. National interviews are now scheduled to be held on September 30 and October 1 (Saturday and Sunday) at the GET Office in Tokyo, Japan. Interviews for oversees applicants will be conducted via Skype between September 25-29, 2017.

  • PROFESOR(A) - El programa de idiomas GET de Peace Boat está aceptando solicitudes para los puestos de profesor(a) voluntario(a) de inglés y español para los viajes 96/97. Los solicitantes deben estar disponibles para toda la duración de los itinerarios de los viajes 96 Y 97, es decir desde el 8 de enero hasta el 23 de abril de 2018. También debe ser capaz de participar en la orientación que se realizará alrededor de una semana antes de la salida del primer viaje. Si bien aceptamos solicitudes para sólo uno de los viajes, los solicitantes que estén disponibles para la duración de ambos viajes tendrán prioridad. El plazo para la solicitud de ha sido extendido a las 17:00 JST del jueves, 14 de septiembre de 2017. Las entrevistas para los residentes en Japón tendrán lugar el 30 de septiembre y el 1 de octubre (sábado y domingo) en la oficina GET en Tokio. Las entrevistas para los residentes fuera de Japón se harán a través de Skype entre el 25 y el 29 de septiembre de 2017.

  • WEB REPORTER Peace Boat is currently recruiting a volunteer web reporter for the 96th and 97th Global Voyage. The main role of the web reporter is to create reports about onboard and in port programmes for the Peace Boat English website and social media. Coverage is primarily through text and photographs, and video where possible. Reports are uploaded to the "Voyages" section on the Peace Boat website.
